Kate has been our daughter, Evie’s piano teacher for over 18 months. Evie was 5 and a half when she first started lessons.
Kate has developed a wonderful relationship with Evie, who looks forward to her lessons on a Tuesday very much. Kate makes her lessons incredibly fun, finding music she knows Evie will be familiar with and will enjoy learning. Kate also has a wonderful way of encouraging Evie to practice her music daily and is given the choice of numerous fun, age appropriate stickers at the end of each session ( a highlight for Evie!)
Kate’s feedback after each lesson is fantastic, we always chat about Evie’s progress, which she also writes in Evie’s own note book given to her by Kate when she first started lessons.
At the end of each term we get a lovely email from Kate, again detailing Evie’s progress and plan.
I cannot recommend Kate highly enough, as a family we adore her and feel she is the perfect teacher for our daughter whose piano playing is developing beautifully. We even listened to them play a duet last week!
We have, and will continue to recommend Kate time again.

“I am privileged to provide a reference for Kate."

I first met her nearly three years ago. I had decided to learn the piano in my late sixties and she was recommended to me by a lady in my village who knew her at school.
Kate is a delightful lady who makes the lessons interesting and fun. She has the ability to bring out the best in her pupils being encouraging and patient and tailoring the lessons to appeal to each individual. She explains things very clearly and concisely and I look forward to my fortnightly lessons immensely.
She is genuine, kind and totally trustworthy and I would thoroughly recommend her not only as a piano teacher but also personally in whatever role she takes on.”

''Kate is a very nice and kind piano teacher and she makes my music lesson fun. I do a little bit of practice every day, which she says is important and I enjoy it and I have improved a lot. I try out lots of new music with her, my current favourite is the Beatles as well as the Entertainer by Scott Joplin. She writes down what I need to do on a notepad and this helps me remember what to learn. Sometimes she asks me to compose my own tunes and put together a whole playlist of songs which is fun.''

Matthew (Student)

''Kate has been teaching my 11 year old son the piano for about three years now and as a parent listening out, I notice how she individualises her teaching style to engage him, recognising that every child is different depending on their mood that day and how they are feeling. She is firm but playful and makes lessons fun, keeping it fresh by encouraging him to try out different pieces of music, for example rock, pop and classical to expose him to different genres of music and help him discover what he is passionate about. I have seen his technical ability advance a lot such as adopting the correct posture and recognising the importance of louds and softs. She is also very reliable and gives feedback to us both regularly so we know how he is progressing.''
