FAQ

What is the format and length of lessons?
Music Ninjas provides engaging one-on-one piano lessons in primary schools. These 20-minute sessions, held during school hours, are ideally suited for young learners.

How much does it cost? Lessons cost £14.50 per week and we take payment through an online platform/bank transfer on a termly basis.

What music do I need to buy? We are currently in the process of developing our own series of music books that will take you from beginner level up to your first grade (Grade 1) but this is going to take a few more months of development.  In the interim we use a number of different modules depending on your child's age and capability.  Books will cost between £7.50 - £12.

How do I pay?  Payments are taken through an online platform/bank transfer on a termly basis.

If we don't have a piano does it matter? Whilst having a keyboard or piano is advantageous, it’s not essential. Progress can be made without one, albeit at a slower pace. A paper piano can be a good starting point for practice. If your child enjoys the lessons after a term, you  could consider purchasing a keyboard or piano for a special occasion like a birthday or Christmas.

How much practice will they  need to do? We all know the saying 'practise makes perfect' however finding time in our busy schedules can be hard.  I'll be honest if your child can find 10-15mins a day to begin with that will make all the difference to their development and progress.   Its also a great way to begin to instil the disciplines and benefits of focused learning. It can also be a fun way to escape and be creative.

How do I know how they doing? It’s crucial to track your child’s progress. Regular updates will be provided in their Ninja notebooks after each lesson. We also use the parent/school online platform Tapestry to safely share lesson photos and videos, allowing you to engage with the content. An end-of-term report will provide a comprehensive review of your child’s progress, and we’re always available for chat should you have any queries.

Will they do exams? Exams are optional. We support both exam-focused learning and fostering a love for music that allows your child to enjoy, relax, and express themselves through the power of music.

What if my child doesn't enjoy it? Music Ninjas is passionate about the benefits of learning music. Our main goal is to help your child develop a love for music and boost their self-esteem. We’re confident your child will enjoy our lessons.  We do book everyone in for a full term but offer flexibility to cancel anytime during the term as we understand it might not be for everyone. We also appreciate trying a new activity can be daunting, so we strive to make the process as encouraging as possible.

How will you ensure my child is safe? Ensuring a fun, safe, and inclusive environment for children is our main focus. Our teachers have an enhanced DBS, including a Children’s Barred List Check, and are part of the DBS Update Service for annual rechecks. They also hold current safeguarding certificates and adhere to our company policies. We follow best recruitment practices for maximum safety. Feel free to contact us for any policy details.
